Client & Animal Requirements Policy

This Client & Animal Requirements Policy outlines the expectations and responsibilities of Mid Shore Animal and Home Sitting, LLC ("Service Provider") and its Clients to ensure the safety, well-being, and proper care of all animals under our services. By utilizing our services, Clients agree to adhere to the following requirements.
1. CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES
a. Accurate Information – Clients must provide accurate and up-to-date information regarding their animal(s), home, emergency contacts, and veterinary details. Any changes must be communicated promptly.
b. Meet & Greet – All new Clients must schedule a Meet & Greet before services begin. This allows the Service Provider to assess the animal(s), discuss routines, and review necessary paperwork.
c. Service Agreement & Liability Waiver – Clients must review and sign the Service Agreement, Liability Waiver, and any other required forms before services can commence.
d. Emergency Contacts – Clients must provide at least one reliable emergency contact who can make decisions on their behalf if they are unreachable.
e. Payment & Fees – Clients must adhere to all payment policies, including deposit requirements, cancellation fees, and additional charges as outlined in the Booking Policy.
f. Home Access & Security – Clients must ensure that the home is safe and accessible for the Service Provider, with functional locks, secure fencing, and any necessary security details provided. If others have access to the home, Clients must disclose this information in advance.
g. Pet Identification – All pets must wear identification tags with up-to-date contact information. Microchipping is strongly recommended.
2. ANIMAL REQUIREMENTS
a. Health & Vaccinations – All animals must be in good health and up-to-date on all required vaccinations, including rabies, distemper, and any others recommended by a veterinarian. Clients must provide proof of vaccination upon request.
b. Parasite Prevention – Animals must be on a regular flea, tick, and heartworm prevention program. The Service Provider reserves the right to refuse service to any animal showing signs of infestation.
c. Aggressive Behavior – The Service Provider reserves the right to refuse or terminate services for any animal displaying aggressive or dangerous behavior. If an animal bites or injures the Service Provider, the Client assumes full responsibility for any resulting medical or legal expenses.
d. Containment & Safety – Animals must be contained in a safe and secure environment (e.g., proper fencing, crates, leashes). The Client is responsible for maintaining the safety of all enclosures, locks, and barriers.
e. Special Needs & Medications – If an animal requires medication or special care, the Client must provide clear, written instructions and sufficient medication for the duration of service. The Service Provider will administer medication as directed but is not responsible for any adverse reactions or health complications.
f. Outdoor Walks & Weather Considerations – The Service Provider may modify outdoor activities in extreme weather conditions to protect their and the animal’s health. Clients acknowledge that outdoor walks may be shortened or substituted with indoor play if necessary.
3. REFUSAL OF SERVICE
The Service Provider reserves the right to refuse or discontinue services for any of the following reasons:

The animal exhibits aggressive or dangerous behavior.

The animal appears to be sick or injured without prior disclosure.

The Client fails to provide required information, documentation, or payment.

The home environment is unsafe or unsanitary for the Service Provider.
4. LIABILITY & INDEMNIFICATION
a. The Client agrees to hold the Service Provider harmless for any injury, illness, or loss resulting from undisclosed health conditions, behavioral issues, or environmental hazards.
b. The Client assumes full responsibility for any property damage, injuries, or medical expenses caused by their animal(s) to the Service Provider or third parties.
c. If an emergency arises and the Client cannot be reached, the Service Provider is authorized to seek veterinary care as outlined in the Emergency & Veterinary Care Policy. The Client agrees to reimburse all associated costs.
5. AGREEMENT TO TERMS
By booking services, the Client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to this Client & Animal Requirements Policy.
