What is an Independent Contractor?
Independent Contractors (ICs) are self-employed professionals who provide services on a contractual basis rather than as employees. As an IC with MSAHS, you will maintain full control over your schedule, services, and pricing while benefiting from increased exposure and client connections. ICs are responsible for managing their own taxes, expenses, and business operations.

Requirements

At least 18 years old

Must provide a business ID if applicable

At least one year of experience in the service being provided

Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license

Reliable phone service and consistent communication access

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication, collaboration, and customer service skills

Passion for animals and helping others

Patient, reliable, trustworthy, and professional demeanor

Ability to work flexible schedules when necessary

Willingness to pass a background check if requested

Punctuality and commitment to scheduled services

Openness to feedback and collaboration with MSAHS and clients

Job Responsibilities

Provide a clear understanding of services, costs, and expectations to clients and MSAHS
-
Promote both their own business and MSAHS online and in person and with clients

Maintain a professional relationship with MSAHS and attend monthly meetings
-
Provide MSAHS with updates on clients booked through the platform
-
Sign a contract agreeing to professional standards and expectations
-
Represent MSAHS professionally, reliably, and ethically
-
Complete initial training and ongoing professional development
-
Arrive on time for services and deliver high-quality care
-
Address and resolve client concerns professionally, ensuring client satisfaction
-
Regularly check and adhere to scheduled appointments, reporting any conflicts in advance
-
Minimize reschedules and cancellations to maintain client trust

Compensation & Payment Structure
MSAHS operates on a fair and transparent commission-based model to ensure both the contractor and the business receive equitable compensation for services provided.

ICs set their own service rates, which are reviewed collaboratively to ensure competitive pricing within the market.

MSAHS receives a commission for each service booked through our platform, covering administrative costs, marketing, client coordination, and business support.

The commission percentage is based on the specific service provided and will be discussed during the interview process and finalized in the contract.

ICs receive 100% of any client tips earned.

ICs will receive compensation for any referrals that result in new animal or home sitting service bookings with MSAHS.

ICs receive compensation for completing approved courses or continuing education while under contract with MSAHS.

Payments to ICs are processed after MSAHS has received client payment.

ICs are responsible for their own travel and service-related expenses, which may be eligible for tax deductions.
